We enjoyed a busy Seachtain na Gaeilge at Kilcummin N.S. There are beautiful art displays throughout the school to celebrate Seachtain na Gaeilge and Lá Fhéile Pádraig. Infants created lovely leprechauns and Irish flags that are on display in school for St. Patrick’s Day and they printed lots of shamrocks to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day. The flags were very useful for their school parade, when the Infants participated in their own parade throughout the school, visiting classes while singing Irish songs!
It was great to return to our annual whole school céilí this Thursday. Thanks to our dancing teachers, Mary & John Moriarty. Pupils and staff were also treated to some live traditional music and a presentation of the Labhraí Loingseach drama by our students as part of our Seachtain na Gaeilge celebrations. On Lá Glas, the Infants enjoyed their own parade throughout the school and they sang some of our Irish songs, including Lá ‘le Pádraig & Leipreachán.
Our Irish book writing entries have been entered into the Foras na Gaeilge Scríobh Leabhar book writing competition. Best of luck to all our budding authors. Ádh mór! We were delighted that all children were afforded an opportunity to participate in this wonderful initiative.
Beannachtaí na Féile Pádraig oraibh go léir!
