We learned lots of facts about predators and prey from Siobhán at the Knockreer Education Centre. We met a bank vole and mouse, which we got to hold (in a bag!) and we released these back into the park. We collected lots of insects from the Deenagh River using our nets and we gathered insects using pooters. We put our insects into Petri dishes and we used the microscopes to examine them. We then had a fun scavenger hunt where we had to find different coloured items around the Knockreer Gardens. We finished off the day with some deer spotting. What a great day!! Well done to all the budding scientists in Junior Infants. Thanks to the staff at Knockreer Education Centre for a wonderful tour with Junior Infants and Senior Infants and thanks to all the school staff for making the day a very special one. Míle buíochas!
