Congratulations to our Bright Spark Sadbh!

Updated: Jun 23, 2022

We are delighted to share some more great news about our Sixth Class student Sadbh O' Halloran who just keeps hitting new heights. At the recent Garda 7-aside Blitz held in the glorious sunshine in Fitzgerald stadium in honor of the late Paudie Twohig, she not only won joint female player of the tournament, but she also shared the much coveted overall Player of the Tournament trophy with another outstanding talent from Fossa in Faye Lynch. This is an outstanding achievement for both girls and our own Sadbh O Halloran in particular, as this was the first time in the competition's 16 year history that the overall player of the tournament award was presented to a female player, which speaks volumes about the talent of these two young up and coming stars. We will no doubt be seeing a lot more of these two girls going forward.

On a separate note, news reached Mr. Murphy this week that Sadbh also won the Junior Entrepreneur Programme (JEP) Bright Sparks competition for 2022. This is an individual competition based on the JEP initiative. She entered a wonderfully creative and artistic Pebble Art project (images attached). The staff here at Kilcummin N.S. and in particular class teacher, Mr. Murphy, are immensely proud of all her accolades in recent weeks and we wish her all the best as she starts the next chapter in her life and education. We will all miss Sadbh terribly and we look forward to hearing about the inevitably bright future that lies ahead for this 'Bright Spark'! Go n-éirí an bóthar go geal leat!

Congratulations Sadbh on a massive achievement. Thanks also goes to Mr. Murphy and Mr. Kelliher for their help and assistance with Sadbh's Brightspark's entry. Attached below is the All Ireland winning entry.
